Frequently Asked Questions
What challenges can I discuss in therapy?
You can bring a wide range of concerns to therapy, including anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-confidence issues, loneliness, finding purpose, and life transitions. Therapy provides a safe and confidential space to explore these and other personal challenges.
What is integrative psychotherapy?
Integrative psychotherapy combines elements from different therapeutic approaches to suit your individual needs. This method allows for flexibility in addressing various issues by drawing from modalities such as psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, and somatic therapies.
What can I expect during a therapy session?
Sessions provide a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgemental space to explore aspects of your life that may be causing distress. Together, we will work to gain insight into patterns of behaviour and thought, fostering self-awareness and personal growth.
How long does therapy take?
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual goals and challenges. Both short-term and long-term therapy options are available, and we will discuss the best approach for you during our initial sessions.
Do you offer online therapy sessions?
Yes, I offer both in-person sessions at my practice in Islington and online therapy sessions to provide flexibility and accessibility.
What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling and psychotherapy are closely related but differ in depth and focus.
Counselling is often shorter-term and focuses on specific issues such as stress, life transitions, or relationship challenges. It provides practical tools and coping strategies to address immediate concerns.
Psychotherapy tends to be longer-term and explores deeper emotional patterns, unconscious influences, and past experiences that may be shaping your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours today.
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I tailor my approach based on your needs, whether you're looking for short-term support or a deeper therapeutic journey.
How do I book a session?
To book a session, please visit the Contact section of the website and fill out the enquiry form. I will respond promptly to arrange a convenient time for your session.
What are your qualifications?
I hold an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (clinical) and a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I attend regular supervision which is an ethical requirement for my role as a therapist.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic relationship. All information shared during sessions is kept confidential, with certain legal exceptions which will be discussed during our initial meeting.
What is your approach to therapy?
I am an integrative psychotherapist with a range of experience, offering a confidential, non-judgemental, and warm space for you to explore your feelings and challenges. I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding and reflection. Therapy can be a journey of discovery—sometimes painful but ultimately enriching, helping you manage your emotions and future. We are shaped by our experiences, and understanding their impact allows us to move forward. I specialise in anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, neurodivergent challenges, confidence issues, childhood trauma, eating disorders, relationship, work and family conflict, as well as transitions and navigating change.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us…And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
